What is a real investigations team?  Who is looking for the truth, and who is in it for the entertainment value.

It seems that ever since the invention of the TV show Most Haunted, everyone is creating their own ghost group, tour, and the popularity is more now than ever.

When one looks around at all the groups out there, especially in Edmonton, you will notice words like hunters, seekers, etc in the title.  My question is how can you be a real investigations team, when you already have come to the conclusion that there is already a ghost/spirit/poltergeist or any other activity in the locations you visit?  A true INVESTIGATIONS team, has to be logical about the data they gather, so they can come to a true conclusion.  When you go in already thinking that the activity is because of a paranormal factor - you already rule out the logical side of gathering and presenting data.

I think its great that lots of people are interested in the paranormal, but when you call yourself and investigations group, and you do not present your 'investigations' with all sides of the coin, you are actually hurting the other groups out there, that are trying to get to the truth behind possible actual paranormal phenomenon.  This is what personally drives this investigator up the wall.

Every group should follow a code of conduct as well - this also includes presenting data in a truthful and well thought out form.  I know lots of people go into it because they are excited about the possibility of getting orbs, apparitions, evps, etc - but when you have an actual group, and are presenting dust particles as orbs (or as we have seen with other sites, bugs, reflections), again you are hurting the industry.  This is why we have to get this industry regulated.

There are groups/tours in Edmonton that are talking about us in a negative way.  Even though we don't point out anyone specifically, they know who they are.  True investigation teams, are open to share their data, so that we all as an industry can come up with logical explanations, conclusions, and maybe new ways of gathering data.  This is why we connect ourselves more with groups in the UK that have been around 25 years, and have nothing to prove.  This seemed to increase since out appearance on Breakfast Television in October of 2006.  There seems to be a 'fight' to see who gets what media attention in this city, frankly we could care less.  We went on the said TV show to explain what we do, and our main goal for being on the show was to state that this industry is getting a bit out of hand, and that there should be a code of conduct that all teams should follow, unfortunately, we didn't get to this subject.

And as far as all the tours go, they can be fun.  But anyone going on these tours have to realize, they are scripted.  And if you go with a huge group of people, the possibility of capturing anything on your camera, etc are close to nil.  NO one can hold an investigation with so much interfering noises, and any data that anyone going on these tours will get, are usually explainable - but unfortunately, this more than likely will not be told to you.  After all, if you think you got something real - you are going to want to pay to go on the tour again. Our advice is, if you do capture something you think is real, send it to a team that is established, and has shown that they are logical.  Even if its not us, there are plenty of teams in the UK that will tell you what is real, and what isn't.  This is one of the reasons we are separating ourselves from any tours (which we never asked a dime for).  If there is a tour that pop's up here, that can prove that they are not in it for the entertainment value, but for an actual group to give truthful, proper information to their clients/group - then we will be happy to help them out.

We may seem boring compared to other groups in Edmonton, but with us, you will get a proper and logical conclusion.  We have been on investigations where we had to throw up our hands and say have no clue what else it could be.  We recently caught evp's that even audio techs have listened too, and have no idea as well what else they could be.  We are not in it to get the definite ghost caught on camera (although we have gathered some data on video and other visual equipment that is fascinating), we are in it to try and find out what is behind actual phenomenon.  I guess that's why other groups are not too happy with us right now.  We will never talk down about another group - but we will continue to hold up high standards of the industry.

WE are not in competition with anyone, we are just in search of the truth.  If that makes us boring, then boring we shall be.
